Tales of Sayari
In appearance the Skaad are very dark skinned, appearing black with indigo or blue lips though paler individuals also have indigo tints to their skin. Their pupils are black and their Irises have a faint dark green tint in dimly lit conditions. They have slightly raised brow bones and wide nostrils.
Hair varies from rusty reds, black, brown or is otherwise a sun-bleached variation of the aforementioned.
Males are usually very stocky in build, they generally grow beards long and plaited or otherwise styled and have thick brow hair, they commonly shave their hair to baldness and facial tattoos are important for them culturally. only men who are of certain religious following or who have been shaved as part of a criminal punishment have no facial hair.
Females may be slightly more athletic to stocky in form, their hair grows very quickly and those of royalty and nobility may have very intricate haistyles, typically they wear their hair tied back in plaits or braids to keep it out of their day to day life.
The average adult is around 3.5 to 4 ft.
Native to Branskaad (Central Alea) the Skaad ‘ska-ah-d’ are a spiritual warrior culture that have dwelt within their sandstone fortress cities and travelled as nomadic tribes and merchants across the sun scorched lands for untold cycles before they encountered any of the other races.
They are the most ancient of the civilised races of Sayari, the Ikarveasa and the Payk although likely older, neither are originally from this place. After the initial fighting between the first Daeunen and Kulay tribes to come into contact with them, the various races gradually worked out ways to communicate between each other gradually learning each others languages also.
The Skaad taught the primitive Daeunen and Kulay explorers the ways of the desert and dark gods of the Skaad lands.
